Better Bones and Balance The Better Bones and Balance course has been designed to gradually improve balance and strength and significantly slow the rate of bone loss. Our classes are safe for individuals with osteoporosis and osteopenia and appropriate for all ages. Bring a pair of indoor shoes and hand weights (2-5 pounds) Instructors: Jenny Carroll & Peggy Swanson Monday & Wednesday 8:00-8:50, 9:00-9:50, 10:00-10:50 Power of Chair Exercise This class is for people looking for a gentler approach to exercise and have limited mobility from an injury, illness or age. Chair exercise is very beneficial if you travel frequently, or work at a desk, and want to learn exercises you can do seated. Chair exercise benefits people of all ages, working through a series of movements focused on stretching with the use of a chair, while increasing strength, balance, flexibility, self-awareness and stress reduction. Senior Fit Tuesdays The activities will be a combination of standing and chair exercises. We will work to include a total body workout focusing on balance, strength and endurance. The goal of the class is to keep you moving at your appropriate level. Instructor: Peggy Swanson Tuesday 10:15-11:10 Low Impact Aerobics Thursdays A fun lower intensity exercise class! Especially designed to include active older adults, individual s who haven’t been exercising in a while, or individuals who may be limited physically. Movements are gentle on the joints and easy to follow. The goal of the class is to have fun while keeping you moving! Suggested equipment – pair of light weight dumbbells. Gentle Flow YOGA Blending restorative and gentle stretching, with breath-work, correcting old postural habits, and guided relaxation. There are brief periods of explanation, to teach awareness exercises, and to modify positions. An excellent choice for those who need a gentle, yet effective stretching practice to build balance, strength and flexibility, from the inside out. Chair YOGA A beneficial class for everyone, whether you have limited mobility from injury, illness or age or want to learn seated exercises you can do while traveling or working. This class will focus on postural habits, breathing techniques to increase lung expansion, promote focus, mental clarity and relaxation. All levels welcome! On the Move with Peggy A fun total body fitness exercise class! This is a low impact aerobics class building endurance, strength, and flexibility.
